Genk have set a new price tag of £17m for Nigeria international Paul Onuachu during this summer transfer, The PUNCH reports.
The former Belgian champions managed to keep their most prized asset from leaving last season but are now preparing for life after the Super Eagles striker.
Following his impressive performance from last season, Onuachu, who scored 23 goals and made three assists in 43 games, has been linked with top European clubs with West Ham, Sevilla and Benfica believed to be leading the chase for the striker.
According to football.london, the 28-year-old has been listed among the players wanted by West Ham and Tottenham.
“Spurs and West Ham have found out the price they need to pay if they want to secure the signing of Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu,” the website wrote.
“Onuachu can now leave for £17m and he is the player with the least valuation on our list.”
Genk coach, Wouter Vrancken, also revealed that he was unsure of Onuachu’s stay at the club ahead of the new season.
He also spoke about Cyriel Dessers’ future.
“A perception has been created that we are going to keep a big clean in the core,” Vrancken told Belang van Limburg.
“For me that is not necessary. My first impression of the boys is purely positive; I would like to work with them all.
“One of the issues is the striker position. Just like last year, it is doubtful whether Onuachu will stay in the Cegeka Arena, while Cyriel Dessers also enjoys a lot of interest after his strong loan spell to Feyenoord.
“For the time being, they (Dessers and Onuachu) are both still here.
“But the reality is that the situation may be different by the start of the competition.”
