The Federal Route Security Corps says dark travellers are to a greater extent vulnerable to route accidents than those moving in the daytime.
Zonal Commandant Officer, Kaduna zone ACM Godwin Omiko disclosed this at the ember months crusade flag-off, held at the Investment Motor Commons, Dutse, the province working capital.
He said the aim of the crusade is to sensitized Motorists, passengers and the full general public on the ways to cut back the rate of accidents, particularly during the ember period.
The zonal Commandant explained that route accidents are the main monsters that kill to a greater extent than whatsoever form of illness.
He said overspeeding accounts for over 85% of route accidents in Nigeria.
Omiko advised motorists and travellers particularly in this Ember Months to avoid rider’s and goods overloading, dark driving, and obey route traffic rules and signs.
He said, ” Nighttime locomote is one of the most unsafe adventures one can undertake, this is because of the inherent dangers associated with it, which includes driver fatigue, vulnerability to attacks, poor vision and absence of First off Responders/Rescue in instance of a vehicle crash,” he stated.
