The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has communicated frustration at the choice of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) on Nneka Ogwumike and Elizabeth Williams.
FIBA has prevented the team from playing for D’Tigress at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The competition, moved from last year, will run from 23 July 2021 to 8 August 2021.
On Twitter, NBBF proclaimed that the activity was conflicting to normal equity and equity.
The sports body said FIBA licenses African players to play for different nations, however denies them the chance to address their nation of birth.
“We do implicitly accept that there are inclinations and inspiration for such a choice”, the tweet read.
“It is additionally prejudicial on the grounds that players of African drop are supported to play for different nations continually yet the opposite isn’t the case.”
Otis Hughley Jr., D’Tigress mentor, asked FIBA to assist ball with developing permitting Ogwumike and Williams to play for Nigeria.
