Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, terrorizing parts of Benue Province, have attacked the Yelwata community in Guma Local Regime Area of the Province.
DAILY POST gathered that the armed men who carried out the onrush, on Saturday, butchered 2 residents and whisked some other one to unknown destination.
A resident of the community, Mr Tarka said the incident triggered tension in the area, stating that to a greater extent residents have been displaced.
When contacted, Constabulary Public Relations Officer, PPRO in the province, DSP Catherine Anene told our correspondent that the incident was yet to be reported to the command.
The chairman of the local authorities, Caleb Aba, could not be reached to comment on the incident.
DAILY POST recalls that similar incident occured in the Yelwata community on August 25 when in relation to 8 persons where killed, piece others were left injured.
