An Upper Area Court sitting in Kasuwan Nama, Jos, on Thursday condemned an understudy, Rotgak Audu, to 16 months detainment for taking an iPhone, T-shirts, and two jerseys.
Earlier, the arraignment counsel, Sgt Daniel Longwal, let the court know that the case was accounted for at Anglo, Jos, Police Station, on Oct. 18 by the complainant, Longji David.
The examiner further let the court know that during the examination, the convict confessed to the crime.
He added that the two shirts and pullovers were recuperated from the convict yet the iPhone and the N1,000 were not.
Longwal added that the offense repudiated the arrangements of areas 333 and 273 of the Plateau Penal Code, Law of Northern Nigeria.
The managing judge, Mr Lawal Suleiman, condemned Audu after he conceded to criminal trespass and robbery and asked for leniency.
The judge, in any case, gave the convict a choice to pay a fine of N10, 000.
He likewise requested the convict to pay N22, 000 in remuneration to the complainant, NAN reports.
