The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), has alleged that in relation to 48 persons were massacred within 24 hours during an onset on Zango Kataf and Kaura local authorities areas of Kaduna Province by suspected Fulani militia.
The SOKAPU spokesman, Luka Binniyat alleged that the attackers carried out their operations in the 2 local authorities areas without whatsoever resistance from the security personnel, unleashing violence, mostly on women and children.
He alleged that 8 persons were killed in Zango Kataf on Monday, piece scores had before on Sun eventide lost their lives to gunmen in Kaura, many injured and many houses razed by the suspected militia.
Expatiating on the killings in Kaura LGA, Mr Luka Binniyat said in relation to 40 people were killed Sun eventide in Madamai and Abun communities under Malagun in the area.
Binniyat said the attackers hid in strategic positions and attacked the natives around 4pm when locals were home, others at the farms and some at the local market place.
Binniyat said, “Patch it was raining, they began to open flame at the same time. As people were running, the gunmen were shooting.”
The spokesman said as the attackers moved into the village, they started burning houses and killed women and children who tried to escape into the bush.
He explained, “40 (40) corpses of mostly women and children were recovered and they were conveyed to Kafanchan Full general Infirmary mortuary.”
Binniyat alleged that the personnel of Surgical operation Safe Haven is not plenty to effectively contain the activities of the gunmen attacking Southern Kaduna communities given the size of the area.
He said, “The locals also confided in us that the attackers were Fulani. It is also unlucky that both the law and Surgical operation Safe Haven do not have a simple drone to aid them in area surveillance and it looks as whether it is intentionally so.”
”SOKAPU strongly condemns the lack of seriousness by the Commander, Surgical operation Safe Haven, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Sallau, who is also the GOC, 3 Partition, Nigerian Ground forces Jos in ensuring the area is properly protected from the activities of the suspected Fulani militia who carry out their killings freely.
He called on the Nigerian Ground forces to appear into the allegation and do the needful and also called on youths to remain vigilant, defend their communities, cooperate with security agencies and never take laws into their hands.
