A high judicature sitting in Gusau, the Zamfara Province working capital, has struck out the instance filed by the dethroned Emir of Maru, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, against the Inspector-Full general of Law (IGP), Muhammad Adamu, and 5 others.
The judgment was delivered on Fri by Justice Bello Shinkafi, pointing out that the security agencies, particularly the law, have the constitutional right to investigate the instance considering the weight of the allegations against the dethroned Emir.
DAILY POST reports that the dethroned monarch was claiming the total of N6.5 billion for defamation of character and illegal detention.
It was notwithstanding learnt that the dethroned emir sued the Inspector Full general of Law and 5 others to judicature for 11 months, 13 days of illegal detention and defamations of his character.
Recall that the monarch was dethroned by the Zamfara Province Regime lastly yr next alleged bandit activities, culpable murder, cattle rustling amongst other offences for which he was detained in the Zamfara Regime House for 11 months.
DAILY POST gathered that 5 other respondents in the suit are the province’s Managing director-Full general of DSS, province Commissioner of Law, Secretarial assistant to Zamfara Province Regime and Assistant Managing director, DSS respectively.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the judgment, counsel to the dethroned monarch, Barrister Samuel Anosike, explained that the content of the judgment would be carefully studied for an onward appeal.
“I will discuss with my client after studying the judgment carefully for us to prepare an appeal suit to seek redress,” the Barrister added.
Notwithstanding, the counsel to the province regime, Barrister Musbahuddeen Salahuddeen said the judgment was perfect and okay.
“I commended the jurist and the judicature for the microscopic physical process of the suit filed before the judicature which led to the dismissal of the instance solely,” he said,
