Chief coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has revealed that he changed his tactical system for the contrary fixture against the Central African Republic.
The Wild Beasts had shocked Nigeria 1-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, in the foremost leg on Thur.
Ahead of the game in Douala on Lord’s Day, Rohr reverted to a three-man defence.
Leon Balogun gave the Eagles the take, before Victor Osimhen made it 2-0 at the break.
Rohr, speaking to NFF Media after the game, said he was impressed by the squad’s reaction.
“It was a good reaction from my squad, we lost the other daytime – rattling unlucky at the rattling in conclusion min.
“Everybody wanted to take revenge and they did it rattling good although we could not score a third or 4th goal.
“We changed the system and played 3 [defenders] at the dorsum which helped us as good as the leadership of [Ahmed] Musa to win this game.
“It is not piece of cake to play the Central African Republic. They committed a lot of fouls but fortunately, we didn’t have whatever large injuries.
“At present we can prepare for the next game in Nov and hope that everything would be fine at the terminate of the daytime,” Rohr said.
