The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the level of security if by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to corps members.
The Dark-green Chamber mandated the Commission on Youth Evolution to investigate the pamphlet and assess the level of security if to corps members.
The choice to embark on the investigation was sequel to a motility moved by the Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that the controversial NYSC security tips pamphlet surfaced on social media over the weekend. The pamphlets amidst other things contained tips for corps members on ransom payment.
Although the NYSC initially denied the content of the pamphlet, it accepted ownership of the document.
In his motility, Mr Elumelu said the advice way “a finish collapse in the architectural system of the country’s security forces and a major worry for friends and household as to why their children should be allowed to participate in this compulsory exercise.”
He said the “insertion of such a clause by the NYSC in its security tips manual portrays the inability of the authorities to supply security on the highways as good as a give up by the authorities to kidnappers and bandits.”
Speaking on the motility, the Speaker, Femi Gbajabimila said he was informed that the NYSC already disowned the insertion.
Nevertheless nonetheless, Elumelu insisted that he has a re-create of the pamphlet obtained from the NYSC.
The motility was taken without debate.
