NEWS UPDATE: Reform of Nigerian military, Defence Ministry begins

The Nigerian authorities has commenced the implementation of security reform recommendations.

Defence Government minister, Bashir Magashi assured citizens of a rejuvenated and repositioned military machine.

The retired Full general spoke at the Ministry building of Defence headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

Magashi inaugurated a 24-member commission to manage recommendations of the Reform Commission for the Ministry building of Defence and the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

The report was submitted in Apr. Major Full general Alwali Jauji Kazir (rtd) chairs the commission to effect a 7-point terms of reference.

Masashi famous that the onus is on the Implementation and Advisory Commission to institute essential mechanisms.

The squad will examine the recommendations and class them into instant, small, medium and long term as appropriate.

It will monitor progress in the implementation at Defence Ministry building, Defence Headquarters and Services’ Headquarters; develop strategies to tackle whatsoever envisaged bottlenecks, and perform other functions as may be assigned.

Permanent Secretarial assistant, Ministry building of Defence, Musa Istifanus charged members of the commission to reckon their assignment as a phone to return selfless service to Nigeria.

Retired Full general, Kazir assured the authorities of his squad’s total commitment to diligently carry out the assigned task.
