Paris Saint-Germain chief, Mauricio Pochettino, has affirmed Lionel Messi won’t make his presentation in their Ligue 1 game against Strasbourg on Saturday.
Messi has had just two instructional meetings since joining PSG as a free specialist on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old will be introduced alongside the other summer signings to the fans at the Parc des Princes in front of the installation, however will not play.
Asked when Messi, who last played in a 1-0 triumph over Brazil in the Copa America last on July 10, will make his introduction, Pochettino said on Friday: “We need to approach it slowly and carefully. The need is that he feels well.
“A month prior, he played the Copa America last and he needs to make his presentation in the best conditions. In any case, I’ve seen an extremely experienced Messi, the player we as a whole know. What I see is a Messi that is glad and with mind blowing energy.”
