Law officers and some civilians on Saturday scuttled the abduction of a People’s Democratic Political party (PDP) chieftain in Nasarawa, Umar Nasiru.
In a statement on Sun, Public Relations Officer, ASP Rahman Nansel said the incident occurred at in relation to 8:10pm.
The spokesman famous that a distress ring was received that 6 gunmen were in an active surgical operation.
They invaded Nasiru’s residence at the Bukan Kwato area of Lafia, the province working capital.
Commissioner of Law, Adesina Soyemi mobilised patrol teams around the axis to the scene.
Nansel said the officers and courageous members of the community jointly foiled the onset.
The assailants strike Nasiru with a stick on his brow and shot a vecino on the right leg.
They and then escaped into nearby bushes, piece the victims were rushed to a infirmary. All are in a steady status, reports say..
“Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects. An investigation is ongoing”, the statement added.
