NEWS UPDATE: Police foil kidnap attempt, kill 1, arrest four bandits in Zaria

The Kaduna Province Constabulary command, on Tuesday, said it has foiled a kidnap endeavour in Zaria metropolis.

It also said during the physical process, it killed one of the suspected kidnappers who attempted to kidnap one of the victims

DAILY POST reports that this was contained in a statement on Tuesday, by the Constabulary Public relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Muhammed Jalige.

According to him, on 27th September, 2021, the Kaduna Constabulary Command received a distress call up through the Divisional Constabulary officer Zaria City that some bandits in big numbers, invaded the residence of one Muhammed Sani (M) of Nagoyi Quarters in their desperate endeavour to kidnap occupants of the house.

He said on getting the information, a squad of policemen with members of vigilant services, led by the DPO, rushed to area and engaged the bandits in a gun duel.

They killed one bandit piece others ran for security with bullets wounds.

He added that the command also arrested a notorious kidnapper identified as Hussaini Damina of Damina Village, including Dahiru Usman M (Driver), Jibrin Idris of Toro LGA Bauchi Province, Musa Isiya, and Anas Dahiru.

He said on 26th September, 2021, operatives also intercepted an eighteen-seater motorcoach conveying suspected rustled cows heading to an unidentified destination along Barde – Keffi route.

According to him, on the course of instruction of investigation, the suspects confessed to the criminal offence, piece the possessor of the moo-cow was identified as one Dahiru Bala of Uddah Village and the cattle were handed over to him accordingly.
