NEWS UPDATE: Police arrest father, siblings for beating last-born to death in Imo

The Imo Province Police force Command has confirmed that a household of 4 in Umuduruihiako Umueze ll in Ehime Mbano Local Authorities Area of the province conspired and vanquish their youngest blood brother, Chukwuebuka Osundu to decease.

DAILY POST had before reported that a begetter and 2 siblings reportedly killed and buried their blood brother in a shallow grave for existence stubborn.

The Commissioner of Police force, Imo Province, CP Hussaini Rabiu, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Fri said the command’s operatives with the back up of the community were able to arrest 2 suspects, Lambert Osundu and Racheal Osundu.

He said presently, they are undergoing interrogation and have made useful statements that will take to the arrest of the other household members on the run.

The CP, spell condemning the killing of the immature man in its entirety, said next credible information received by the command, he right away dispatched detectives to the alleged scene of the criminal offense.

According to him, “On arrival, the command’s operatives based on intelligence, interrogated one Robert Anyanwu, Chairman of Umuezealagwu Umuduruekwe in Ehime Mbano LGA of Imo Province.

“It was revealed that on 14/9/2021 at in relation to 1200 hr, the Osundu household comprising of Lambert Osundu, Ndubuisi Osundu and Rachael Osundu, female, all of Umuduruihiako Umueze ll in Ehime Mbano local authorities area of Imo Province, conspired and vanquish their youngest blood brother, Chukwuebuka Osundu “M” aged 20 years to decease for yet to confirmed reason(s).

“After killing him, the begetter of the deceased with the assistance of Ndubuisi Osundu carried the lifeless body to the dorsum of their chemical compound, dug a shallow grave, and secretly buried the corpse. When the villagers asked the household in relation to their son’s whereabouts, they told them that he has travelled to Republic of Ghana to seek greener pastures.”

The CP advised members of the public not to take laws into their hands rather, they should allow justice to prevail. He assured residents of the command’s commitment to ensuring the security of lives and asset.
