NEWS UPDATE: PDP withdraws from Ogun local govt election

Barely 48 hours to Saturday’s neighborhood government political decision in Ogun State, the resistance Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has removed from the chamber polls.

The Chairman of the gathering in Ogun, Sikirulai Ogundele said this in an assertion on Thursday.

Ogundele, in the articulation, asked hopefuls and individuals from the gathering to resist the urge to panic, saying the withdrawal was spin-off of a judgment of an Ogun State High Court among him and Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC).

DAILY POST reports that Ogundele had before hauled OGSIEC to court for managing a group faithful to late Buruji Kashamu of the PDP in the state.

The OGSIEC Chairman, Babatunde Osibodu, said he gave over the types of the gathering to the group with the real documents.

“Sequel to the judgment of the Ogun State High Court, Isabo in suit no M/55/2021 between Sikirulai Ogundele VS OGSIEC, certifying the CONSENT Judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja as followed through on 22nd June, 2021, the Ogun State section of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the capable Chairmanship of Alh (Dr) Sikirulai Ogundele thus make the accompanying pronouncement:

“That outcome upon the said judgment in suit M/55/2021, Ogun State PDP pulls out its cooperation in the Ogun State Local Government Election which is booked for Saturday 24th July, 2021.

“That all competitors of the gathering who host been before screened by the get-together to challenge in the LG political decision and all our overflowing gathering individuals and steadfast allies are charged to keep quiet and support their trust in the administration of the gathering,” the assertion reads.PDP
