NEWS UPDATE: Osun PDP charges defectors on success of party at polls

The Osun Province Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Political party (PDP), Lord’s Day Bisi has charged the newly defected members to work assiduously for the victory of the political party in the 2022 gubernatorial election in the Province.

The Osun PDP Chairman also asked the new members to consider the political party as their household as they have been welcomed with open hands and assured that their remain in the PDP would herald an era of peace and progress.

Bisi gave this admonition on Saturday as he welcomed decamping members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oke-Ila Orangun, Ifedayo local regime area of Osun Province.

Patch enjoining the defectors not to consider themselves as new members in the political party, Bisi told them that they were entitled to everything within the political party.

He urged them to demonstrate their loyalty to the PDP by staying true to their membership pledge and also work for the progress of the political party.

The chairman also mandated the political party members to work towards bringing over members of other parties into the PDP because the political party had renewed itself and was committed towards achieving victories during the 2022 gubernatorial election in the Province and the full general election in 2023.

Bisi famous that the defection became essential as the ruling political party was divided amongst themselves as there was rancour betwixt the governor and members of The Osun Progressives (TOP) which has the back up of, Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of the Province.

The defecting political party members were led by Yisa Adebayo, a former Council Chairman of Ifedayo LG and Province Executive Officer of the APC.
