One individual has been confirmed dead at the Onipepeye axis of the Abeokuta-Sagamu highway in Ogun Province when a passenger vehicle had a head-on collision with a truck on Lord’s Day.
3 persons also sustained injuries in the accident that involved a white Toyota Coaster passenger vehicle marked AAB-686YJ and a white Man Diesel truck with no number plate.
The Ogun Province Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident, blaming it on reckless driving on the division of the passenger vehicle driver, who it said, “failed to comply and maintain a lane as traffic was already diverted.”
TRACE corps spokesman, Babatunde Akinbiyi, explained that the passenger vehicle driver’s recklessness at a traffic diversion spot made him lose command and he rammed the vehicle into the truck, resulting in the expiry of one individual.
According to Akinbiyi, 3 men and one adult female were involved in the route crash, saying that one of the 3 men died on the spot.
DAILY POST learnt that 2 of the victims were taken to Province Infirmary, Ijaye, Abeokuta, adding the third victim was taken to some other infirmary by officials of the Federal Route Security Corps (FRSC).
