The senator representing Ondo Southward District in the Senate, Nicholas Tofowomo, has lamented the perpetual darkness in the communities of Okitipupa, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Irele and Odigbo Local Authorities Areas of Ondo Province in the finally 15 years of utter neglect by regime.
The lawmaker disclosed the ugly state of affairs on Tuesday spell raising a matter of urgent national importance through Orders 42 and 52 of the Senate Rules during plenary in Abuja.
In the motility entitled “Urgent Demand To Restore Electricity Provide In Okitipupa, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Irele and Odigbo Local Governments after 15 Years of Neglect and Blackout in Ondo Southward Senatorial District”, Tofowomo described the state of affairs as “embarrassing and despicable”
He said: “The unlucky state of affairs in my senatorial district in Ondo Province where 90 percent of my people have been deprived of electricity powerfulness furnish since 2007 which is in relation to 14 years of uninterrupted darkness.

The Senate, in its resolution, appreciated the NDDC for installing a transmission sub-station in Okitipupa Local Authorities that would furnish the electricity of Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Okitipupa, Irele and Odigbo Local Governments.
