A speculated cultist has been captured by the police while attempting to upset a continuous assessment in a polytechnic possessed by the Ogun State Government at Igbesa.
According to the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect, distinguished as Ojo Akinola Iyanu, an individual from the Aiye confraternity, was seized with a sack containing one privately made gun stacked with one live cartridge.
Oyeyemi uncovered that Iyanu was grabbed Tuesday at the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, following solid knowledge that a few cultists had wanted to disturb the polytechnic’s assessment, which he said was rescheduled subsequent to settling an emergency between the understudies’ association and the school management.
He said that the understudy cultists, who didn’t get ready for the assessment, had “sanctioned arrangement to guarantee that the assessment didn’t take place.”
To forestall a breakdown of law in the polytechnic, the DPO of Igbesa, SP Abayomi Adeniji, in a joint effort with other security organizations, were said to have occupied with legitimate screening of all understudies prior to entering the assessment corridor directly from the primary gate.
As the screening was continuing, Oyeyemi clarified that the suspect and another individual later recognized as Aloma, were blocked with a dark bag.
“While looking through the pack, the subsequent kid ran away, while Ojo Akinola Iyanu was immediately captured,” Oyeyemi added.
He said the suspect admitted during cross examination that he was “an individual from the feared Aiye confraternity.”
The police representative cited Iyanu as saying his gathering had chosen “to upset the assessment since it came out of nowhere and met them unprepared.”
In his response, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, requested that the suspect be moved to the State CIID at the police central command, Eleweran, Abeokuta for circumspect examination, requesting that different individuals from the gathering ought to be pursued for and brought to book.
