NEWS UPDATE: NUJ calls for thorough investigation of attack on journalist’s residence in Ondo

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo Province Council has called for a thorough investigation into the onrush on the residence of an Ondo Province-based journalist, Mr ‘Tosin Ajuwon.

Expressing scandalise and disbelief on how the house of Mr Ajuwon was burgled, the Ondo NUJ urged the Nigeria Police force, Department of Province Services, DSS, and other security operatives to as a matter of urgency set mechanism in move to ascertain those who perpetrated the evil human activity.

According to the NUJ, the incident is disturbing in view of the recent disappearance of a Vanguard journalist in Abuja and several others attacked across the country.

The residence of Mr Ajuwon who is also the Secretarial assistant of NUJ Correspondent Chapel was burgled by suspected hoodlums who carted absent vital documents and other valuables.

Spell sympathizing with Mr Ajuwon over the evolution, the Province Chairman of the Union, Adetona Aderoboye and the Province Secretarial assistant, Leke Adegbite in a press statement signed on Tuesday advised the security operatives to beef upwardly security around journalists and other media professionals in Ondo Province to forestall whatsoever sad happening.

“Ondo NUJ shall work closely with men of the Nigeria Police force to apprehend the perpetrators of the onrush on Ajuwon without unnecessary delay.”
