Some activists have blocked roads in the Federal Working capital Territory, Abuja protesting against poor governance.
In a video posted by an activist, Imoyele Sowore on his verified Facebook page, a big number of protesters were sighted chanting solidarity songs.
The post was captioned, “Breaking: Independence Daytime Protesters commence #RevolutionNow #BuhariMustGo protestation in Abuja”.
This is coming as the country is celebrating its 61-year-independence anniversary.
Although many Nigerians have frowned on the Independence Daytime celebration owing to the current hardship and security crisis bedevilling the country, activities are currently ongoing in many parts of the country.
Sowore had vowed that there would be no celebration in Nigeria on Oct 1st, saying there is nil to celebrate.
Similarly, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB had also vowed to closed downwards the country and take away all Nigerian National Flags from the Southeast part in solidarity with their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu is currently in the custody of the Department of Province Services, DSS, after his rearrest from an undisclosed country in June.
