A Yaba Primary Magistrates Judicature has remanded a dismissed Law Sergeant, Samuel Philips, in prison house custody for allegedly killing Monsurat Ojuade.
The ruling was issued hours after the Lagos constabulary command sacked Phillips after an orderly room trial.
Primary Justice of the Peace Adeola Adedayo said that the 30-year-old remain behind bars pending legal advice from the business office of the Managing director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The accused was arraigned on a charge of murder. His plea was not taken.
The prosecutor, Insp Augustine Nwabuisi, said hd accused committed the offence on September 10, in relation to 11:30 p.m. at No. 5, Mogaji St., Ijeshatedo area of Lagos.
Philips is accused of firing bullet into the residence of the 18-year-old Monsurat spell on an surgery.
The bullet smash the admission seeker’s thighs leading to her decease within a small period.
The offence contravene Subdivision 223 of the criminal law of Lagos Province 2015 which stipulates a decease sentence.
The instance was adjourned until Oct 25 for receipt of legal advice.
