The constabulary in Ogun Province on Fri arrested a suspect, Bolanle Ojomu, “piece carrying out robbery surgical operation at Ilese Ijebu.”
Ogun Law Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was nabbed next a distress call up received by the constabulary at Ilese Ijebu partition at in relation to 12:30 am.
The constabulary had been informed that armed robbers were terrorising residents of Silva Estate, Odomalasa area of Ilese.
Acting on the distress call up, Oyeyemi said the DPO of Ilese Ijebu, CSP Amuda Bolaji, directly mobilised patrol squad and raced to the scene of the robbery incident.
Sighting the policemen, Oyeyemi disclosed that the hoodlums fled directly; saying, notwithstanding, that “they were hotly chased and one of the suspects was apprehended with the assistance of members of the community, piece others escaped.”
One locally-made gun with one live cartridge had been recovered from the suspect.
Meanwhile, the Ogun Acting Commissioner of Law, DCP Abiodun Alamutu, has ordered the instant transfer of the suspect to the Province CIID for farther investigation, fifty-fifty as directed directed massive manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang.
