Legislators of the Niger province House of Assembly have passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill for the twenty-five Local Regime councils to the amount of N60,725,185,827.
They passed the Bill during plenary after presentation of written report by the Chairman House Commission on Local Regime and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. .Shuaibu Liman Iya
According to the breakdown of the budget, recurrent expenditure is expected to gulp the amount of N47, 161,744,412, with working capital expenditure at N13,563,441,415.
Iya spell giving his written report told the House that out of the over N60 billion for the financial yr, in relation to N42 billion is for statutory resource allotment.
The lawmaker stated that over N3 billion is for the Value Added Taxation, VAT, in relation to N4 billion is for 10% province resource allotment just as over N1 billion is for Internally Generated Revenue, IGR.
He, notwithstanding, famous, “Due to the dwindling nature of the national economic system which has resulted in the autumn of resource allotment to the various levels of regime, many of the local regime councils in the province still remain in deficit and cannot fifty-fifty pay hundred percent salary”.
