NEWS UPDATE: Lawyers, litigants stranded as JUSUN begins strike in Ogun

Legal specialists and their customers were left abandoned on Wednesday as individuals from the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ogun state part, set out on an endless strike over supposed short installment of compensation by the government.

On Wednesday, courts in Abeokuta were safely secured because of the endless strike.

Some of the laborers, who talked namelessly to newsmen, said the modern activity might proceed until the public authority consents to their solicitation to pay them in full.

Tajudeen Edun, the Chairman of JUSUN in Ogun, unveiled that the hit was in consistence with a mandate of JUSUN’s National Secretariat that arranged its initiation on August 11.

Edun disclosed to newsmen that the association took the choice to leave protesting after a progression of gatherings with delegates of the state government finished in deadlock.

He added that the association had seen that legal executive laborers in the state were by and large short-paid since October, 2020.

His words, “It’s been quite a while that we have been on the issue, and there were a progression of gatherings. That is the reason we requested all individuals from the Judiciary staff to sit at home until when our solicitation is granted.

“This strike we are setting out on is endless, in light of the fact that on February 24 there was a final offer given to the public authority for the installment of full compensation before the cross country strike on independence commenced.

“And after the strike, the gathering proceeded with the public authority, however there was no sure result.”

He encouraged the Ogun State Government to investigate the ask for and do the needful; saying, “it was a solicitation that could be effectively dealt with in light of the fact that the staff strength isn’t much.”
