NEWS UPDATE: LAUTECH: Makinde releases N500m for Iseyin Campus take-off

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo Province has released the total of N500 million as a grant for the take-off of Ladoke Akintola Academy of Engineering (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, Iseyin Campus.

Chairman, Governing Council of the institution, Professor Deji Omole made this disclosure on Lord’s Day.

DAILY POST recalls that the institution was previously owned by both Oyo and Osun states.

Our correspondent recalls that Oyo Province became the sole possessor of the institution on 20th Nov 2020.

Makinde, a few months agone announced the establishment of the LAUTECH Iseyin campus of the institution.

Iseyin, which is one of the towns in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone is in Oyo Due north senatorial district.

Omole, in a statement made available to DAILY POST, maintained Makinde has released the money for the take-off of the campus.

He said that the money has been released by Makinde as a grant for the smooth take-off of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources in Iseyin Campus.

He farther revealed that Makinde has concluded plans to pay Osun Province Regime some other N1 billion on or before the firstly week of Dec.

Omole spell speaking farther stated that Makinde has paid 5 out of 8 months of salaries owed to workers of the institution.

“In add-on, the Oyo Province Regime had released the total of N500 million to the institution as take-off grant for the smooth running of the school.

“Indeed the working capital expenditure for infrastructure evolution of the school has been budgeted for in the 2022 appropriation Bill. This is happening for the firstly time in the history of the institution.

“Oyo province had already paid N1 billion to Osun Province and earmarked some other one billion to be paid on or before the firstly week of Dec 2021. Oyo Province has liquidated 5 out of the 8 months salary arrears beingness owed workers of the Academy,” he said.
