The Kwara Province flaming service has recovered the corpse of a man in Ilorin river along Emir’s route in the province working capital.
Spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara Province, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, in Ilorin on Monday, said the corpse was recovered on Monday at in relation to 7.48a.m.
He said the corpse had been handed over to the law.
DAILY POST also reports that a suspected thief and 2 others who chased a suspected thief into the Asa river around Amilegbe area of Ilorin, Kwara province working capital, have been declared lost 3 days after the incident.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, as the 2 men pursued the thief, who later threw the stolen phone into the river and jumped into the same river and started swimming.
After a spell, they were not traced, hence the province flaming service was informed in relation to the incident for rescue.
Spokesman of the province flaming service confirmed the evolution.
He said “We learnt the suspect stole the phone from those Igbo traders around Amilegbe area and jumped into the river when we got to the bridge.
“But upwards till at present, after several hours of search, we have not seen whatsoever of their traces whether dead or alive,” he added.
