NEWS UPDATE: Kwara: Community confirms abduction of woman, two children in Omu-Aran

The main sociocultural body of Omu-Aran community in Irepodun Local Regime Area of Kwara Province, on Saturday, confirmed the abduction of 3 members of the community.

The incident occurred on Fri dark, DAILY POST reports, fifty-fifty as the province constabulary command through its spokesman, Okasanmi Ajayi, claimed in a statement on Saturday that the command was yet to get whatever official written report on the kidnap example.

President of the organization, Olayemi Lasisi Abidoye, in a statement by Olayinka Owolewa, who described the incident as unlucky, disclosed that some arrests had been made during the search for the abductees on Saturday.

He explained that “Some unknown gunmen stormed the Oko junction axis of Omu-Aran, some few minutes before 8 in the dark on Fri and shot sporadically in the air to scare people absent.”

The president of the organization, said the gunmen later stormed a pop fuel station around the junction to abduct a adult female and 2 of her children.

He said the vigilante groups had swung into activeness in search of the abductees.

The president commended the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti and his council for their sleepless nights overall security issues in the community.

He assured members of the community not to entertain whatever fearfulness as they go in relation to their lawful activities and appealed to both the Federal and province governments to double security apparatus around the community and its environs.
