Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, on Wednesday in Benin, said the security circumstance in the state was somewhat quiet, adding that endeavors were continuous to support it.
Obaseki revealed this while checking on Edo security circumstance for the long stretch of July, following a joint security meeting with all heads of different security offices in the state.
According to the lead representative, the reports considered shows that the security climate in the state is moderately quiet, in the midst of the relentless kidnappings and equipped thefts on Benin-Auchi road.
Obaseki said, “A considerable amount of exercises had been embraced to ensure that unending kidnappings and outfitted burglaries on Benin-Auchi street are taken care of and brought under control.
“For the period of June, we have seen a significant decrease in occurrences of hijacking in that pivot; we have seen a couple of more cases in Uromi-Agbor hub and that is being worked on.
“Another issue that was considered was a report on drugs maltreatment by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
“We’re working with NDLEA, individuals from the general public, common society associations, strict pioneers, non-legislative associations and the press in promotion so we can feature the risks and bring them under control.
“We additionally got extremely deplorable reports about the increment in street mishaps. From August 1 alone to date, we have recorded around eight terrible engine mishaps, with around seven deaths.
