The Kaduna Province Authorities on Saturday began the enforcement of the ban on motorcycles and restrictions of tricycles from 6 am to 7 pm.
Recall that the province regime had banned the utilisation of motorcycles for commercial purposes, or riding to work, and also placed restrictions on tricycles.
Tricycles will only be allowed to function from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm. The regime said the enjoin which takes effect from September 30, 2021, was to curtail the activities of bandits.
The enforcement on the ban of motorcycles for transport or commercial purposes applies to everyone, including law enforcement agents who ride their motorcycles to their various places of work.
Many workers, businessmen, and women, including law enforcement agents; constabulary, NSCDC, immigration, Nigeria Correctional Service have no alternative but to hold off for commercial buses and tricycles which were scanty.
Many passengers, workers were seeing stranded as the number of buses, tricycles plying the route were inadequate for passengers.
With the enforcement of the ban, many whose relatives take sick in the nighttime and demand require to be taken to the infirmary will have to hold off till the next morning time.
In Kakuri, Sabo-Tasha, Angwar Sule, and neighbouring villages, the squad of security personnel maned various motorbike routes, arresting anyone who refused to comply with the regime’s directives.
A motorcyclist, Mr. Joseph Elaigwu, who rides within Angwar and whose motorbike was taken absent told DAILY POST on Saturday that, he has no work or whatever way to feed his 5 children.
“I am frustrated and confused. What next for me at present? I have nil to take attention of my children, apart from the Okada work I do. At present, where will I go from hither?” He asked.
