DAILY POST reports that the journalists under the auspices of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) are in the Province to elect new members of the Central Working Commission of the union.
The delegates from the 36 states and Federal Working capital Territory (FCT) are expected to elect the NUJ National officers of the union nowadays.
The national officers will pass 3 years in business office.
Findings by DAILY POST correspondent who is one of the delegates from Oyo Province revealed that Umuahia has been witnessing beehive of activities since Tuesday.
NUJ President, Mr. Chris Isiguzo in a statement to welcome all delegates to Umuahia, said the ex-parte Say obtained from the National Industrial Tribunal of Nigeria by some members of the union in Ogun Province restraining the union from holding the conference, had been vacated by the judicature in Ibadan.
This evolution according to Isiguzo had cleared all encumbrances for the union to go ahead with the delegates’ conference.
He explained that the opening ceremony of the conference is expected to commence at 9.am at Dr. Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.
