Jigawa Province Authorities is losing N2.5b monthly to ghost workers in the province and local regime civil service.
This was contained in a study of the Province Workers Verification Commission headed by Surajo Kantoga fellow member representing Birnin Kudu constituency in the province House of Assembly.
Presenting the commission’s study to the ALGON Chairman, Bala Usman Chamo on Fri said the province was losing over N2.5b monthly in the payment of identified ghost workers of province and local regime in the province.
Kantoga said the affected workers are teachers and local regime staff across the 27 local Governments.
“The commission during its exercise discovered that in relation to 84 ghost workers, in relation to 41 teachers lack competency and approved teaching qualification.
“The commission had also discovered that 29 teachers were promoted illegally patch others were lately employed illegally.
Bala Usman Chamo patch receiving the Commission’s study commended the chairman of the commission and his members.
He assured of proper implementation of the outcome to ensure sanity, transparency and social justice in the province civil service.
