An irate mob has reportedly overpowered a vigilante grouping, setting a suspected thief ablaze in Warri, Delta Province.
The Law Rapid Response Squad from “A” Partition in Warri had arrested a four-man gang, including 22-year-old Efe David, with 3 others fleeing the scene.
The gang had allegedly snatched a tricycle with registration number FHR 600 QF at Hausa Quarters.
The fleeing suspects escaped from the criminal offense scene with the snatched tricycle next a hot chase by the constabulary.
Based on the information, one of the fleeing suspects was arrested by the vigilante with the snatched tricycle just as the remaining 2 others escaped.
The Delta Province Law Command, led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali, confirmed the study in a statement signed by the Law Public Relations Officer, DSP Vivid Edafe.
“The vigilante was overpowered by an irate mob who delivered instant jungle justice in the suspect.
“The tricycle, cutting to size double barrel gun with 2 live cartridges and some suspected stolen pieces of gold plated jewelry were recovered,” he said.
