NEWS UPDATE: Ikoyi building collapse: Lagos lawmakers take action

Lagos Province House of Assembly members visited the Ikoyi building collapse site on quarta-feira.

The legislature hinted that concerned regime officials would be invited to reply questions in relation to the catastrophe.

Chairman, Commission on Physical Planning and Urban Evolution, Hon. Nureni Akinsanya led the delegation.

Akinsanya disclosed that the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, directed the squad to carry out an in-person assessment of the scene.

The legislator said they would nowadays a study on findings to the House and and then enquire relevant officials to seem.

He commended the responders for their efforts since Monday and commiserated with families of victims.

“I want them to take pump and seem unto God for the strength to bear the tragic incident.

“We have been on the ground for hours and seen what has happened. We will write our study and take activeness.”

Noting that a special commission will seem into the findings, Akinsanya assured that whatever is essential would be done “fifty-fifty whether we have to amend our laws”.

He was accompanied by Hon. Rasheed Makinde, Hon. Fatai Oluwa and Hon Femi Saheed.
