Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole, has uncovered that Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho, in a real sense stopped Stamford Bridge by scoring a 27th-minute punishment against the Blues during the 2005 Champions League most recent 16 second-leg tie.
Cole said this while uncovering the best game he’s consistently played during his career.
According to him, Chelsea’s 2005 experience with Barcelona was the game that had everything, including Ronaldinho crushing up a cooler in the tunnel.
Recall that Barcelona had crushed Chelsea 2-1 at Camp Nou in the principal leg, however the Blues won the Catalan club 4-2 at Stamford Bridge to fit the bill for the keep going 8 on 5-4 aggregate.
“I have never encountered this… , yet when Ronaldinho scored that objective, I have never seen an arena… he like stopped the arena, it was mind blowing,” Cole disclosed to Jamie Carragher’s The Greatest Game podcast.
“Then there was a touch of afters, a short time later, which is consistently decent in the tunnel.
“It felt like a Champions League game, yet an outdated game, similar to when we previously came through. There were uber stars everywhere.
“Ronaldinho was in it [in the tunnel afterwards], he crushed up the ice chest. Ronaldinho was crushing up the fridge.
“I was well away, celebrating – however there was a little scuffle. I think everything rose from the principal leg, with Jose [Mourinho] when he was up to his stunts as we lost in the Nou Camp.”
