NEWS UPDATE: Gunmen free five commuters kidnapped in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has said five suburbanites grabbed along Ayedun-Ilasa-Ayebode street in Ikole Local Government Area of the state last week have been freed.
They were said to have been delivered on Sunday and nobody could affirm whether payment was paid or not.

The casualties were hijacked last week Thursday at different areas in Ilasa and Ayebode during composed assaults by criminals threatening that pivot in late times.

Before the abductees were seized by shooters, the scoundrels had connected with the warriors, who were called by drivers who got away into the shrub in firearm duel, causing irregular shots that leased the air.

Apart from the five people that were captured, two different people were said to have been hit by projectiles and supported materially wounds during the shootout.
Confirming the delivery in a phone visit on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, said, “All the capture casualties, five taking all things together, have recaptured their freedom.

“They were delivered around Ikole Ekiti in the Ikole Local Government region following endeavors that we (police and different organizations) set up brushing the hedge. The strain was a lot, so the hijackers needed to let them go.

“Efforts are still on to catch the ruffians for indictment to guarantee the wellbeing of the people.
