Former Vice chairman of Marte Local regime Abatcha Bukar has been formally sworn in as the executive chairman of the Local regime to fill up the vacant place left by tardily Jibrin Abubakar Jibrin who died lately after a protracted illness.
The province governor, Babagana Zulum, represented by his Deputy Umar Usman Kadafur presided over the swearing-in ceremony patch the representative of the province main jurist, Justice Aisha Kumaliya administered the oath of allegiance.
The province governor in his address urged the newly sworn-in chairman to create broad consultations and involve all stakeholders in the direction of the local regime affairs.
The governor said it is expected that the chairman will work in unity with other tiers of regime to convey the dividend of democracy to the people in all relevant areas.
Governor Zulum urged the new chairman to key into the 25-year evolution framework and ten-year strategic transformation programme of this administration.
The governor also enjoined him to utilization available resources wisely, stressing that regime will not hesitate to deal with whatever chairman who is found wanting.
