In a tender to ensure the liberate flow of traffic on roads, the Federal Route Security Corps, Osun Province command has begun surgical procedure “halt obstructing the route” in the province.
This is just as the Corps urged marketplace men and women to desist from displaying wares on roads to avert route obstruction, particularly on marketplace days.
The Sector Commander, FRSC, Paul John Okpe who stated this in a coming together organised for surgical procedure officers, said the Command is working with the Province Regime to ensure sanity around the markets.
A statement by the spokesperson of the Command, Agnes Ogungbemi said the Sector Commander specifically mentioned Owode marketplace, Otaefun, Igbono amidst others where the activities of marketplace men and women including Korope drivers bear on the liberate flow of traffic.
Okpe said the interface with the province Regime led to the recent removal of the mini-market at Dele Yes Sir roundabout located in the province working capital.
He hinted that the inauguration of the Osun Province Route Security Advisory Council (SaRSAC) will take to making the roads safer as the Council is considering removing the vegetation along the highways as it aids criminality and does not give a clear view of potholes amidst others.
“Enforcement and traffic command will be intensified along with public enlightenment and advocacy through the media, motor parks, traditional leaders, Iyalojas and most importantly deployment of regular and special marshals around markets in the province.
The Sector Commander appealed to marketplace men and women to chorus from displaying wares on roadsides as it leads to route obstruction, particularly on marketplace days.
Patch calling on collective sweat to check the menace, Okpe said that the Command will do everything possible to accomplish the objective.
