NEWS UPDATE: Four suspected kidnappers arrested in Ekiti, commuters freed

The Ekiti State Police Command, on Thursday, said a joint security group, containing the military, police, common safeguard, Amotekun and nearby trackers, have captured four suspects regarding a new snatching in the State.

ASP Sunday Abutu, the order’s Spokesperson, who affirmed the captures in an assertion on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, said the endeavors of the joint security group had begun yielding positive results.

It was accumulated that five suburbanites were not many days prior stole along Ayedun-Ilasa-Ayebode street in Ikole Local Government Area of the State.

This prompted inconsistent shooting among troopers and the presumed hijackers, as drivers abandoned the bustling Ayedun-Ilasa-Ayebode road.

The order later said that tireless tension by the consolidated security group brought about the arrival of the five commuters.

It likewise vowed to channel assets towards catching the culprits of the devious act.

“The suspects captured have since been moved to the State Police Headquarters for additional cross examination and examination while the joint activity for the salvage of the casualties proceeds,” he said.

Abutu said the order had conveyed strategic group that involved the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), the Anti grabbing Squad, the Safer Highway and the SIB to participate in a joint activity with the Military, the NSCDC, the Amotekun and the neighborhood trackers, following the new kidnapping of eight people at Itapaji pivot of Ikole-Ekiti.

This is determined to save the people in question and securing the perpetrators.

“This joint activity has yielded positive outcome as four suspects have been captured so far regarding the abduction.

“The order beseeches individuals from general society to supply essential and opportune data to help the police in its tasks,” Abutu added.
