The federal authorities has confirmed it will appeal the judgment of an Oyo province high tribunal, which on Fri awarded N20billion in damages to Yoruba land agitator Dominicus Adeyemo superior known as Dominicus Igboho.
Igboho had sued Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-Full general of the Federation (AGF), the Department of Province Services (DSS), and Manager of Province Services, Oyo Province, demanding N5.5billion in damages over the raid on his Ibadan home on July 1.
During the raid, 2 people were said to be killed, spell 12 of his associates were arrested.
Delivering judgment in the fundamental human rights suit on Fri, Ladiran Akintola, the jurist, awarded N20 billion as exemplary and aggravated damages against the secret service.
Nevertheless nonetheless, Malami speaking with NAN on Fri, said the choice of the tribunal would be appealed.
“Efforts are already beingness made to commence the physical process of appealing the judgment,” Malami was quoted to have said.
