A 51-year-old imitation crude oil supplier, Bello Moshood has been remanded by an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Tribunal for allegedly defrauding a man of 132,000 litres of crude oil products.
The accused individual allegedly committed the offence in Apr 2013 at Ile-Ife.
The Primary Province Counsel, Mr F. Faremi told the tribunal that the accused individual fraudulently obtained N11,220,000 from Alhaji Popoola Ogundoyin with the pretence to provide him 132,000 litres of dual purpose kerosene (DPK), knowing fully to be mistaken.
The offence committed contravened Sections 1(a), (b), 2 and punishable under subdivision 1(3) of Advance Fee Frauds Human activity 2006.
The accused individual whose plea was not taken engaged Mr Ola Ibrahim as his Defence Counsel.
In her ruling, Justice of the Peace Oluwatosin Adediwura said that her tribunal lacked jurisdiction to essay such a example, and ordered for his remand at Ile-Ife Nigerian Correctional centre.
