Explosion shook Ngala people group of Borno State, killing five kids on Thursday.
Ngala, a Local Government Area in Borno, shares line with adjoining Cameroon.
It was assembled that the children were playing inside a field when the unspent projectile exploded.
Two kicked the bucket quickly, while three others died in a medical clinic in Mada, Cameroon.
The Boko Haram faction held onto Ngala eight years prior and was subsequently unstuck by the military.
