Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed the 2 players he regrets not signing for the Gunners during his time at Emirates.
According to Wenger, the 2 players he regrets not signing for Arsenal are Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.
The Frenchman stated this ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Asked which player he regretted not signing the most in an interview with Ian Wright, Wenger told LADbible: “Certainly Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I thought it was possible and whether we had been a fraction quicker, a few days, because we had agreed [a deal], and Man United came in 5 or 6 days later.
“So I would say at the start of my career, Cristiano Ronaldo. At the stop of my career, N’Golo Kante.”
Wenger added: “Like shooting fish in a barrel, because he [Kante] played in a society in Paris called Caen, where one of my best friends is the managing director.
“He told me, “Please, I have a player we know is unbelievable, but nobody wants him in French Republic.”
“He took him in his automobile and travelled with him from society to society and finally, a society from partitioning 3 in French Republic took N’Golo Kante.”
