Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has admitted that Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech are “not in their really best shape”.
Tuchel was speaking after their 3-1 over Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Trevoh Chalobah gave the Blues the conduct before James Ward-Prowse equalized from the spot.
Ward-Prowse was sent off shortly after and Chelsea took reward with belatedly goals from Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell securing maximum points.
Both Ziyech and Havertz were left on the bench for the match, patch Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley were introduced instead.
“We ever seek to do our best to take the players in the best shape. But after a lot of chances, we have to confess that Kai and Hakim, for instance, are not in their really best shape.
“It is possibly not fifty-fifty their fault. It’s just similar this at the instant. They struggle at the instant to be decisive,” Tuchel said.
