Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, wants Luis Enrique to go the social club’s new manager, according to Sky Sports.
Enrique, who has coached Barcelona in the yesteryear, is currently the boss of the Espana national squad.
It is believed he would be interested in talking to officials in relation to the United job and having Ronaldo’s backing could be important, too.
Enrique will be considered for the role as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s replacement, amongst Zinedine Zidane and Ajax’s Erik 10 Hag.
Brendan Rodgers and Mauricio Pochettino have also been linked but both men are considered long shots for the role.
United is searching for a new manager after Solskjaer’s sack was confirmed on Lord’s Day.
Michael Carrick will take charge of the squad until a new man is appointed.
