Former Manchester United player, Ashley Young has hit out at Arsenal players for celebrating “like they won the league” after they secured a narrow win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
Arsenal defeated Aston Villa at Villa Park, thanks to Bukayo Saka’s goal in the first half.
Saka’s goal against Steven Gerrard’s side cements the Gunners’ place in the Premier League top four.
Reacting, Young, a former Aston Villa player, took issue with the boisterous nature of Arsenal’s celebrations.
“You saw the way they [Arsenal] celebrated, to be honest, it was like they won the league,” Young told VillaTV after the match.
“But it shows they found it tough. We want to be in those European places, we want to get the club back there, and everyone’s got that ambition to get the club back there. So, we want to make it a tough place to come, but we want to be winning games as well.”
