Former Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, has urged the club’s next manager to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Hargreaves wants Man United’s next manager to send the signal and make Bellingham his first signing, adding that the midfielder is hungry.
Man United are currently searching for a new manager to replace Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season.
Rangnick was appointed on an interim basis until the end of the season, replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked last November.
The German is not expected to continue at Old Trafford, especially after Man United’s elimination from the Champions League in the hands of Atletico Madrid.
The likes of Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino, Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and even Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel are now under consideration to replace Rangnick at Man United.
And Hargreaves believes whoever is eventually hired as Man United’s next permanent manager should bring Bellingham to Old Trafford.
He told BT Sport: “They don’t have a coach for next year, we don’t know who the sporting director is, there’s a lot of players out of contract like Pogba, Cavani there’s the Martial situation there’s five or six or seven player situations.
“When we played we knew who was going to be signed, the coach was already in there and you knew who was already signing in March. They don’t have a sporting director, a coach or the recruitment side sorted.
“I’m optimistic because Man Utd has the opportunity to go and get anyone and most people would want to come here.
“But you have to start somewhere, get a coach in, get a sporting director start and go and get Jude Bellingham, send a signal to say this is where we are going.
“I think you need young, hungry, dynamic players Jude is the guy I’d start with.”
