Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, says the gild can ‘dare to hope once again’ after the £300m Saudi Arabian-backed takeover was completed on Thur.
The English Premier League, EPL, approved the takeover on Thur afternoon.
The English top-flight league gave the approbation after receiving ‘legally binding assurances’ that the Saudi province wouldn’t command the gild.
The takeover ends Mike Ashley’s controversial 14-year ownership of Newcastle United.
During Ashley’s regime, Newcastle was relegated twice from EPL.
The Magpies, notwithstanding, bounced dorsum both times and are presently in 19th place this term.
Reacting to the evolution, Shearer, who remains Newcastle’s all-time tape goalscorer, expressed happiness and hope for the gild in the near hereafter.
He wrote on Twitter: “Yesssssssss. We can dare to hope once again”, with a series of clapping emojis.
