NEWS UPDATE: End SARS: Police issues stern against anniversary protest

The Lagos Province police force command has warned residents of the Province against staging whatsoever protestation in commemoration of the EndSARS protestation.

Recall that youths across Nigeria took to the streets in Oct 2020 to demand an terminate to police force brutality.

Unfortunately, the protestation took a violent turn after it was hijacked by thugs.

Notwithstanding, there have been reports that some other protestation is in relation to to happen in commemoration of those who lost their lives during the protestation.

Reacting, the Province Police force Command, in a statement released by its spokesperson, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, warned against such protestation.

According to him, “Nigerians cannot afford to relive the distasteful experience of in conclusion yr’s protestation which caused hurting loss of properties.”

He warned individuals or groups who may want to stage an anniversary protestation to squeeze the thought or face the total weight of the law.

“The Command wishes to exercise this medium to warn the youths, groups, or associations planning such protestation to jettison the thought forthwith.

“The police force in the province will not crease their arms and allow some misguided elements disrupt the peace and serenity currently beingness enjoyed in the province.

“Also, we will exercise all legal agency within their constitutional powers to suppress the planned protestation.

“Parents and guardians are advised to warn their children against participating in the planned protestation.

“Lastly, Individuals or groups sponsoring such protestation are also warned in their possess involvement to desist from such plans or face the law,” the statement said.
