NEWS UPDATE: Do not return schools to missionaries – Oyo Muslims tell Makinde

Muslims in Oyo Province, under the auspices of Muslim Community of Oyo Province (MUCOYS) have advised Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo Province not to homecoming schools to the missionaries.

They made this disclosure via a statement signed by Alhaji Kunle Sanni and Alhaji Murisiku Siyanbade, the Chairman and the Secretarial assistant, respectively, and made available to DAILY POST on quarta-feira.

Our correspondent gathered that some groups and individuals in the Province who have been mounting pressure level on the Governor to homecoming some primary and secondary schools to missionaries and devout bodies.

DAILY POST recalls that authorities had taken over some schools that were established by devout organizations.

The schools are at present funded with public money.

The Muslims have, nevertheless nonetheless, urged the authorities not to homecoming the schools to the missionaries.

They said that such endeavor is antithetical to devout peace and good governance.

They famous that rather than returning the schools to the devout bodies, the Governor should improve on the infrastructure of the schools across the Province.
